This month we had the privilege of welcoming Chris Dafforne to the team at Movo Partnership as our new Broker Support Consultant.
This is an exciting time as Movo Partnership continues to grow and having Chris on board gives us more scope and capacity to support and develop our brokers even further.
“Chris will initially be focused on our new joiners, supporting onboarding and ensuring the smooth and supportive transition. Our aim has always been to be the brokers’ critical friend offering support and guidance and the addition of Chris allows us the opportunity to develop new exciting ideas we have for the network” said Broker Development Manager Julie Branton.
Chris has certainly had an interesting and varied career, so we thought we’d ask him to give us a bit of his history and what led him to the Movo Partnership.
“You’ve probably heard this response more than once before when you’ve asked someone how they ended up working in the insurance industry: “I just kind of fell into it.” And that’s me!
After stumbling into insurance way back in 1991, and now with over 20 years’ experience – predominantly in the Personal Lines arena – I’ve seen many changes to the regulations and processes governing our industry. From calculating Home quotes from rating books (yes, I’m THAT old!) to managing the Personal Lines department for a Commercial Brokers I’ve gained valuable insights into the lives, trials and tribulations of Brokers and their clients.
Following sudden redundancy in 2012 I took a hiatus from the industry to raise a young family, and to indulge in my slightly unhealthy obsession with technology by setting up my own hobby business focussing on Apple products and Smart Home setups. Now with soon-to-be 12- and 9-year-old daughters in tow – and with uncoincidentally greyer hair – I recently took the decision to ‘fall back’ into the insurance world. My overriding passion throughout my career to-date has been through building lasting, positive, and productive relationships, and I was exceptionally keen to find a role that fully allows me to do this whilst feeding off my previous insurance experience.
I’m therefore delighted to have joined Movo Partnership on the 7th of May 2024 as their Broker Support Consultant. This role affords me the opportunity to build these very relationships principally with new and existing Brokers in the AR Network. Whilst my first few weeks have been a steep learning curve and a reacquaintance with some key industry knowledge and practices, I couldn’t be more delighted that I’ve joined such a welcoming, supportive, forward-thinking, and friendly ‘family’ as Movo Partnership. I can’t wait to get the opportunity to speak with you all over time and build some lasting relationships to facilitate growth and success in your brokerage.”
